D.C. police investigating two Saturday homicides

Two people were killed and one injured in two separate shootings in D.C. Saturday morning.


One man was shot and killed around 3:57 a.m. on the 4500 block of Benning Road NE. A juvenile girl was also injured in the same shooting and was taken to the hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening, police said.


Another man was killed on the 2300 block of Ainger Place SE around 8:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.


In the first shooting, an underage girl was seriously wounded when she and a man were shot in a car in the 4500 block of Benning Road NE, police said. The man died.


Police are still investigating the circumstances behind the shooting shortly before 4 a.m., but said there may have been an argument. They are looking for a suspect who was last seen wearing a red coat, blue pants and a red shirt.


Police also are investigating a shooting that left a man dead around around 8:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Ainger Place SE. No details were immediately available.
